But as the first condition of the Camp David Peace Agreement, Israel promised that the whole of the Sinai Peninsula, conquered in the Six Day War of 1967, should be handed, bloodlessly, back to Egypt. Now the deadline for repayment has come and gone. What has happened to Sinai in those 15 years of occupation? What difference will the evacuation make to the land, to the Israelis who arc going, and the Arabs who will remain behind?

Forty years ago today HMS Edinburgh sank 800 feet down into the icy waters of the Barents Sea. In her bomb room lay 51 tons of Russian gold, apparently out of any diver's reach, and today worth around £45-million.
Last summer, however, in one of the most ambitious and hazardous salvage operations ever undertaken, Yorkshireman Keith Jessop fulfilled a dream. He led an all-or-nothing multi-million pound venture to wrest Edinburgh's gold from its deadly hiding place. For the divers too, it was a gamble-no gold, no pay -as they risked their lives at the very limits of endurance and modern technology.

Considered by Richard Wilson, the associate producer, as 'the greatest experimental American film ever made under the Hollywood studio system', this highly original, imaginative version of Macbeth was filmed in three weeks. Welles called it 'a kind of violently sketched charcoal drawing of a great play'. The result is an engrossing film of extravagant virtuosity, being shown here in a newly restored version.
