The third of six programmes about families who make music together.
Presented by Roy Castle and featuring
The Cummings, from London.
Three generations of music-making, at the professional level. Encouraged by their parents KEITH and MADGE, JULIAN, DIANA and DOUGLAS CUMMINGS have established themselves in the front rank of English orchestral players. This film looks at how their gift of music is now being passed to the next generation. We see young SIMON, DAMION, NAOMI and BEN JAMIN struggling with the first painful steps towards mastery of the violin and cello; and their parents discuss the massive investment of time and money that goes into the establishment of a musical succession.

The classic French feature film starring Jean Gabin, Mircille Balin.
With the police hot on his heels, Pépé le Moko, a flamboyant Parisian jewel thief, has taken refuge in the Algerian Casbah. In these tortuous, sinister alleys he can safely live with some of his old style. But Pépé longs for Paris and when he meets a beautiful French girl, romance makes him reckless. Duvivier's powerful drama was initially deemed too realistic for American audiences, but spawned two Hollywood re-makes and the apocryphal line,'Come with me to the Casbah!'
Screenplay by Henri Jeanson, Roger D'Ashelbe and Julien Duvivier from the novel by Roger D'Ashelbe.
