starring
Stewart Granger , Joan Greenwood To conclude the short series of films paying tribute to Flora Robson - a colourful historical romance in which she plays a dangerous political schemer at court in 17th-century Germany. At the age of 16, Sophie Dorothea is forced by the malevolent Countess Platen into a loveless marriage with the man who will become George I of England. Her love affair with the dashing Count Konigsmark - and her future - are rendered hopeless by the machinations of the Countess.
