When Henry Lincoln first began researching the story of a French village priest who was led by secret parchments to the source of great wealth, he explored tempting possibilities. Had the priest found the lost treasure of Jerusalem concealed by the Visigoths, or that hidden by the Templars, or was it even the Holy Grail?

In this Chronicle programme Henry Lincoln explains how the mystery led him from the documents of a French secret society to an English stately-home before he discovered part of the solution hidden in Poussin's celebrated painting 'Les Bergers d'Arcadie'.

Investigates, Discovers, Questions This week:
The High Cost of Cheap Housing
They seemed like a marvellous idea at the time - the New Towns of Britain, conceived in the 1940s as a cure for the nation's housing ills. But today, as local authorities take over the administration, they're finding that there's a severe price to be paid for inadequate design and shoddy workmanship, for houses built on the cheap.
Now, the housing solution of the 1970s, ' rehabilitation' (doing up old houses), has begun to show similar cracks. Houses re-modelled only a few years ago are already beginning to decay. And some of the new public housing estates face gigantic bills for putting right faults in design and construction.
Who is to blame-the architects? The builders? The politicians? Man Alive presents a filmed investigation and a studio debate on the housing scandal.

for the BBC2 Trophy St Helens v Salford
Salford, who on their present form must be one of the leading contenders for the First Division title this season, play St Helens in this third quarter-final.
St Helens, winners of the Floodlit Trophy in 1975 and runners-up in 1977 and 1978, were struggling to find their best form at the beginning of the season, but are now showing glimpses of coming back. On their home ground they should give high-flying Salford a tough and interesting match.
Highlights of the match played earlier this evening.
