Presented by Angela Rippon who each week introduces us to the people, the places and the wildlife that make life in the country so appealing.
This week the regular team Is joined by ornithologist Roger Levegrove , the RSPB officer for Wales. With him we explore the wilder parts of the North Wales countryside in search of birds of prey and seabirds-and back in the studio he and Angela's other guests Phil Drabble and Bernard Price consider why birds are so popular.
In contrast, BERNARD PRICE introduces us to the ancient country craft of leather tanning and guides us round a traditional tannery in Devon.

Julie Harris , Raymond Massey
This 20th-century version of the Cain and Abel theme, set in the Californian farmlands, made James Dean a Hollywood star overnight. He plays Cal, a wild adolescent who discovers that his mother is not dead but is running a brothel in a nearby town. The discovery proves traumatic for Cal and begins the break-up of his strained relationship with his austere father and elder brother Aron.
