Tonight from BBC North West Let There be Light
Power comes, at last, to Wasdale Head, in the Lake District.
For 20 years a handful of people in one of England's most isolated hamlets waited impatiently for mains electricity and the comforts of modern living which go with it. Their wait was prolonged by the need to preserve the valley's rugged beauty; and the difficulty and cost of traversing England's deepest lake. Bitter weather did not help either.
