Tonight Chris Dunkley looks back over the past year or so with some of the people who had their own say in their own way.

A film about the young British violin virtuoso Nigel Kennedy
In 1973 a 15-year-old violinist from the Yehudi Menuhin School appeared in a BBC Gala Performance. His name was NIGEL KEN NEDY, and his brilliant playing prompted this programme which follows Nigel's next five years to see what happened to him.
His passion for jazz took him to Ronnie Scott 's Club, where he appeared with Stephane Grappelli , but he also won a three-year scholarship to New York's famous Juilliard School of Music.
When he returned to England last summer he auditioned for the celebrated conductor RICCARDO muti. The result was a concert at the Royal Festival Hall playing Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor with the PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA, and it is with this début that the programme ends.
During the last four years Nigel has been filmed on both sides of the Atlantic. His progress, and sometimes lack of it, is commented on by teachers, family, friends. His mentor, Yehudi Menuhin , discusses his progress and together they perform part of Bach's Double Violin Concerto in D minor. Today at the age of 19 Nigel Kennedy 's story is one of success-an outcome that was by no means guaranteed when the filming began in 1973.
