On the 12th Day of Christmas, There's lots of work to do...
Today's story: 'Twelve Days of Christmas' (traditional).
The Royal Institution, London Annual Christmas Lectures to Young People by Professor Charles Taylor.
A sound produced in the open air is different from a sound produced in a concert hall. The problem of finding an ideal location for the creation of sound, along with other sociological, psychological and economic factors provides the basis for the science of acoustics.
With the help of a magic carpet and a scale model of a concert hall, Professor Taylor discusses this musical science.

Weather
The annual onslaught on beaches, forests and mountains increases every year as the improved facilities for travel take people further and further afield.
But how far can the beaches stretch? How many visitors can a mountainside accommodate? How long can the beauty-spots survive the onslaught of the pleasure seekers? Where and how will we go for our holidays in the world of tomorrow?
