Starring John Gregson, Sybil Thorndike, Finlay Currie
with Loretta Parry, Philip Needs

Michael and Rachel, both aged 7, attend the same school. Although Michael is Roman Catholic and Rachel Jewish, their different backgrounds do not stop them becoming fast friends. But then something happens which reveals the barrier between them: their religion. With disarming logic Michael and Rachel decide to test the strength of their bond of friendship.

Another opportunity to see this remarkable film adapted by Marcel Ophuls from his original production Le Chagrin et ta Pitie which tells the human story of France under the Occupation. Occupiers and occupied, collaborators and resistance fighters, politicians, generals, peasants and private soldiers recount their experiences with astonishing frankness, unfolding a picture of events that is very far from the popular image of this critical phase of the war years.
A vivid, poignant, true account-far removed from the fiction which has so long coloured our image of life under the Nazis (James Thomas - Daily Express)

Barrie Gill and Gordon Wilkins cover the world of motoring.
with Maxwell Boyd, Judith Jackson, Michael Frostick, Judith Jackson

Motoring holidays abroad will be more expensive in 1972 because fares across the Channel and insurance Green Cards are going up in price. Are these higher costs fair? The motoring adventure of 1972 will be an attempt in Range Rovers to cross the Darien Gap - 200 miles of ravines, swamp, and jungle - which is the last barrier to a highway between North and South America. At home, the New Year will see more lorries of 30 tons and over coming on to British roads. What impact will they have on pedestrians, buildings, and the private cars which have to share the road with them?
