Has a government the power to control its own economy? Over the last few years the growth of multinational companies, some bigger than many countries, has cast doubts on the continuance of national sovereignties.

The companies will go on growing, the sales of General Motors are already greater than the Gross National Product of Norway and Denmark combined. They help to determine our balance of payments and our unemployment. Are they wolves in sheep's clothing? Who owns whom?

The Money Programme looks at the growth of these massive companies and the problems they present. Among those appearing will be the chairman of General Motors James Roche and Folke Lindskug the chairman of SKF.

The brown trout in the hill lochs of Scotland vary enormously - in weight - in looks - and in habits. They rarely approach in size the large reservoir trout of southern middle England. But there's more - much more - to trout fishing than just trying to catch big fish. There's atmosphere - there's remoteness - an away-from-it-all feeling in waters far removed from the overcrowded waters of the south.
