A film series about the untamed West
A pioneer settler and his two sons fighting to keep their hard-won cattle land in the lawless territory of California during the closing years of last century.

In their fight to save the homestead of Charlie Poe, one of their neighbours, Johnny, Scott, and their father Murdoch Lancer become involved with an unscrupulous landgrabber, the infamous Marks. When their attempts to stop Marks and his henchman Slaughter from evicting the Poe family fail, Johnny finds himself in jail and it is up to his brother to try to get him out. After the successful 'spring,' Johnny and Scott are forced to become train robbers in order to ensure that the Poe family can return to the homestead that is theirs by right.

A series of six documentary films in which the flavour of a vanishing Britain is captured by Terence Carroll

Real English villages with real country people living real rural lives in them have almost slipped into myth and memory. One that's still left is Powerstock, in Dorset, complete and tranquil with squire, bellringers, an old lady who still milks her cows by hand, and a vicar who does his rounds on horseback. This film catches the climax of the year and of the gentle drama of rural existence - the harvest festival.
