Lancer: Last Train for Charlie Poe

on BBC Two England

A film series about the untamed West
A pioneer settler and his two sons fighting to keep their hard-won cattle land in the lawless territory of California during the closing years of last century.

In their fight to save the homestead of Charlie Poe, one of their neighbours, Johnny, Scott, and their father Murdoch Lancer become involved with an unscrupulous landgrabber, the infamous Marks. When their attempts to stop Marks and his henchman Slaughter from evicting the Poe family fail, Johnny finds himself in jail and it is up to his brother to try to get him out. After the successful 'spring,' Johnny and Scott are forced to become train robbers in order to ensure that the Poe family can return to the homestead that is theirs by right.
