The High Chaparral ...is the bid of a family seeking roots in the newly won West
...is the threat to the new settlers from Mexicans and Indians
...and spells adventure in the Arizona territory of 1870

The celebration of a peace treaty with the Apaches is cut short by the arrival of a gang of scalp-hunters led by an old friend of Manolito and Victoria. Big John is determined to disrupt the gang's activities, but his plan does not include a single-handed approach by Manolito who is captured by the gang.

Ageing is a natural process which we have to accept. People today on average live thirty years longer than their ancestors of a hundred years ago, but... many old people today suffer from illnesses, some have badly balanced diets, and some are even short of water; others are starved of affection, and yet others die from cold in winter.
This programme deals with some of the medical hazards which can affect old people.
