Life ...in the animal world.

Why did man choose the dog to be his best friend?
What are the characteristics possessed by the Canidae generally that cement its bond to Homo sapiens so effectively? Are there any pitfalls facing our society when we choose to alter a dog's shape to suit our fancy?
A search to answer these and other questions relating to the dog is conducted by Kenneth Allsop.

This week: Daughters of America
The first all-film Man Alive of the new series - from the United States

The machine age has freed women in America as never before, given them time to be more than just housewives and mothers. They have become 'joiners' - Eight out of ten American women belong to an organisation or a society. Five out of ten belong to several. Now the hand that rocks the cradle, while it may not rule the world, can at least carry the banner, protest against government, and write to the senator. Organised women in America are a powerful force. Few men - and hardly any politicians - would dare to take them lightly.
