Rachel Podger 's recent recording of Vivaldi's La Stravaganza violin concertos has become the Best Baroque Instrumental CD in this year's
Gramophone magazine awards. She talks to fellow violinist Andrew Manze about her experience of working with the Polish period instrument orchestra Arte dei Suonatori andtheircombined approach to the music. With five of the 12 concertos played in full.

A concert performance of Jules Massenet 's ravishing opera given last month at London's Barbican Centre.
Set in pagan Alexandria, a courtesan is pursued by a monk, formerly an admirer, who has vowed to deliver herfrom a life of dishonour into the arms of the Christian
Church. Their beliefs clash, and each transforms the other's life forever.

Tom Service talks to Georgina Born about the circumstances surrounding its inception. With music composed at Ircam by Jonathan Harvey: Ritual Melodies for quadraphonic tape, and Bhakti played by Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, director Lorraine Vaillancourt.
