4: Symphony No 40 in G minor, K550
Around 1786 Mozart's popularity with the Viennese public had begun to wane, and by June 1788 he was in serious financial trouble. This was partly due to his own mismanagement of his financial affairs, but also because the war between the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Turks was a huge drain on resources that had an immediate impact on sponsorship of the arts. Mozart's health was beginning to fail and his six-month-old daughter died. No wonder then that the symphony in G minor reflects a mood of tragic restlessness. Piano Trio in E, K542 (Istmvt) London Fortepiano Trio

The growing world crisis caused by the drive for maximum food production at minimum cost is the topic of discussion for
Philip Dodd and his guests, including Colin Tudge , whose book So Shall We Reap argues that "enlightened agriculture" is the way to stop the rot. But can current agricultural practice be changed without rejecting the benefits brought by both science and the "free" market? Producer Aasiya Lodhi
