Obrecht and de la Rue
A chanson attributed to Johannes Ockeghem , Fors seulement l'attente, seems to have been something of a medieval hit. In a manuscript that survives in the monastery of St Gallen , there are eight different versions alone, including two by Obrecht and one by de la Rue. Today, a chance to hear the tune in a medley of guises, vocal, choral and instrumental, including the settings by this week's composers: records
