In September 1880, England met Australia at The Oval in the first test match staged in this country. So began one of the great confrontations in sport - the battle for the Ashes. John Arlott tells the story of those 100 years - a rich history stretching back from Lillee and Thomson to the days of W. G. Grace. A chance to see Fred Trueman and Frank Tyson in action again in Colin Cowdrey 's Old England team which today met Bob Simpson 's Old Australia at The Oval.
Introduced by Peter West , who meets England's oldest living test cricketer - Andrew Sandham - together with one of cricket's oldest supporters, author and playwright Ben Travers.

starring Meryl Streep and Raul Julia
This spirited and hilarious open-air production of The Taming of the Shrew takes place in New York's Central Park. For 23 years the park has been the setting for free theatre performances master-minded by JOSEPH PAPP. His actors are among the best in America: MERYL STREEP , who plays Kate, recently won an Oscar for her performance in the film Kramer vs Kramer.
In this documentary the arguments and intrigues of the play spill out delightfully into the dressing-rooms and even into the audience at the interval.
