The European Cup Final Great Britain's men and women athletes face their toughest task so far this year in this star-studded highlight of the European Athletics season.
The eight nations who have qualified for the final are the holders USSR, the probable favourites East Germany, West Germany, Italy, Poland. Finland, the hosts France, and Great Britain. In this unique competition each nation is allowed one athlete per event and the result is decided on a points basis.
Among Britain's athletes competing against world-class opposition are ALAN PASCOE in the 400m hurdles, GEOFF CAPES in the shot. ANDREA LYNCH in the 100m, and DAVID JENKINS in the 400m.
