Every day, from all parts of the world, come letters thanking the ' Old-Timer' for the old songs and memories he has revived. He had one letter from another Old-Timer in South London, who used to sing at the old Star Music-Hall (4d. the balcony, 6d. special nights); he had another from an admirer in Vancouver—' How can we get that book which tells when you are on (RADIO TIMES) ?' Gifts he has received include 10s. notes, books of stamps, tobacco, silk handkerchiefs, while an old couple in Ireland sent him a parcel of eggs, each wrapped up in a tuft of hay.
The Old-Timer goes on-singing selections from the wonderful collection of old songs that have been sent to him, and gratefully reading his fan-mail in appreciation.

Like Shakespeare 's plays, the Arthurian cycle of legends is fair game for every sort of adaptor. It has provided the material for Wagner's Tristan and Parsifal at one extreme, Mark Twain 's ' Yankee at the Court of King Arthur' at the other, and Tennyson's ' Idylls of the King' somewhere in the middle.
, And in the book on which is based the serial play beginning this evening, T. H. White has given the familiar characters a new twist. Sir Ector, Sir Grummore, King Pellinore, and the rest are all very like familiar modern types, and Merlyn is a magician of known probity and international reputation, with first-class honours from every known university.

An appeal on behalf of THE DEDISHAM OPEN-AIR CONVALESCENT HOME FOR YOUNG

While there are various excellent institutions which care for the child who is actually ill or mentally defective, there is only one organisation to look after the child suffering from malnutrition, lack of fresh air, and proper care: the Dedisham Open-Air Convalescent Home for Young Children. Dedisham deals with those children who at the most critical stage of their lives-between two and seven-are border-line cases.
The Board of Education already gives a grant towards the keep of each child at Dedisham. If the Home can raise sufficient funds to build accommodation for twenty more children, the extra grant will make it practically self-supporting.
