Live coverage of the day that traditionally features the quarter-finals of the ladies' singles.
History is on the side of the top-ranked players as no unseeded entrant has ever won the women's tournament. BBCi: digital viewers can view other courts and access information via the handset

Live coverage of the eighth day's play from south-west London, where, weather permitting, the quarter-finals of the ladies' singles competition will be the focus of attention.
At this stage last year, the top ladies seed Serena Williams breezed past compatriot and number seven seed Jennifer Capriati with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 victory. Meanwhile, the French number four seed Amelie Mauresmo had a slightly harder time on her journey to meeting Serena in the semis, eventually beating Paola Suarez of Argentina 6-0, 5-7, 6-1.
Introduced by Sue Barker. Commentary by, among others, Chris Bradnam, Peter Fleming, Jason Goodall, Phil Jones, Louise Fleming, Simon Reed, Garry Richardson , Liz Smylie and Keith Wilson. (S)
