Further live coverage from south-west London on ladies' semi-final day - who will have captured a coveted place in Saturday's final by the end of play?
Both matches last year produced high drama and frequent bursts of inspired play, especially in the clash between Serena Williams and Amelie Mauresmo.
After winning the first set on a tie-break, the Frenchwoman leapt to a 3-1 lead in the second, only to lose it 7-5. This proved crucial for Williams, who eventually ran out the winner, 6-4 in the final set. "This is definitely the most special moment in my career," stated an ecstatic Williams afterwards.
Would she become the first player since Steffi Graf to win the women's singles title three times in a row?
