Fifi'sBoys
When Jane Goodall started studying chimpanzees in the wild in 1960 one of the first she got to know was a youngster she called Fifi. Fifi has grown into a 37-year-old matriarch with six offspring in a community of about 40 chimps. Her eldest son is top male, while the second-born is starting to challenge him for leadership. Fifi's two youngest sons are dependent upon her and have much to learn - how to extract termites from the ground, which baboons are safe to play with and how to hunt monkeys. This film portrait, introduced by Jane Goodall herself, provides an insight into the private lives of man's closest relatives.

Child sex has become a multi-million pound global industry involving thousands of innocent children and sophisticated crime rings of abusers. In Sri Lanka, a destination where European tourists seek sex with young boys, local campaigners claim wealthy Swiss national Victor Baumann has abused more than 1,500 young boys in 17 years. In two separate cases Baumann and German national Gunther Platzdasch, are both due in court in the next few weeks to face charges of sex abuse. Meanwhile the government has declared a crackdown on the trade. But in the past, wealthy and influential expatriates convicted of paedophile sex offences have received nominal fines or short, suspended sentences.

In this film, Sue Lloyd-Roberts talks to Platzdasch, alleged victims of both men and the Sri Lankan authorities, and asks if the government is equipped to deal with the sophisticated communication techniques of modern paedophiles. With the tourist season beginning, Sri Lanka's poor are likely, once again, to be forced into an unholy alliance with the privileged.
