The albatross is the largest and most majestic of all seabirds. To ancient mariners they were symbols of good luck that appeared out of nowhere. Where they went at sea and what they did was a mystery - until recently.

This film follows a year with the albatrosses of the southern Atlantic that nest on the windswept Crozet islands, and reveals the birds' amazing ability as long distance navigators and formidable squid catchers.
