Ever since she can remember,
15-year-old Esther has heard stories about the Skallagrigg, a charmed figure, friend and protector of the disabled. When her father makes a rare visit to the residential school where Esther lives, she sets off with him and a couple of disabled friends to track down the origins of the legend.
Skallagriggwas adapted by Nigel Williams from the novel by William Horwood , whose daughter Rachel (like Esther) has cerebral palsy. As well as a host of star names, Skallagrigg also features a cast of disabled actors in the principal roles.
