A series exploring the gardens created by the Royal Family.
Sandringham House in Norfolk evokes the vanished golden age of Edwardian opulence. It was a time when weekend house parties became fashionable and the great house and garden were kept in peak condition for the pleasure of King Edward and his guests. Two world wars and social upheaval have meant a change of style for the royal gardens. Tonight's film also visits Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother's gardens at Royal Lodge in Windsor,
Birkhall in the Balmoral Estate, and the Castle of Mey in Scotland. Written and presented by Sir Roy Strong. Director Roger Last

From the First World War through to the present bloody conflict in Yugoslavia, war photographs have provided a powerful and harrowing testimony, showing us the consequences of conflict with images that endure long enough to encourage us not to forget. The pictures of some of the most celebrated photographers have been described as "stains that cannot be removed".
Traditionally, attention has focused on the motivation and reaction of those behind the lens. Now, American correspondent Charles Glass investigates the impact of 80 years of war photography on us, the viewers.
