A series exploring the gardens created by the Royal Family.
Sandringham House in Norfolk evokes the vanished golden age of Edwardian opulence. It was a time when weekend house parties became fashionable and the great house and garden were kept in peak condition for the pleasure of King Edward and his guests. Two world wars and social upheaval have meant a change of style for the royal gardens. Tonight's film also visits Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother's gardens at Royal Lodge in Windsor,
Birkhall in the Balmoral Estate, and the Castle of Mey in Scotland. Written and presented by Sir Roy Strong. Director Roger Last
