The Games Climbers Play
Rock climbing has developed alongside mountaineering with its own set of rules and ethics.
British climbers have relied on placing their own protection in the rock as they climb, but in mainland Europe they have used artifical aids for years. Chris Bonington argues that both systems have produced outstanding climbers, but one puts emphasis on risk, the other on gymnastic athleticism. Series producer Richard Else

A series of nine films shot over a year that chronicle the success and failure of those living in recession-hit Britain.

Nick Clarke was a plumber, Clive Busby an electrician. Ten years ago they took up the Thatcher call and started their own business.
"Surefire Kitchens" prospered, then, like many thousands, it was hit by the recession and folded. Now Nick, Clive and their families are harrassed by bank demands and mounting debt, but their enthusiasm remains undimmed as they search for the magic formula for a successful business.
