Who's going to look after Heidi? That is the question that haunted Bernard and Pam Everett, whose 14-year-old daughter had been left crippled and brain-damaged by a car crash at the age of 3. Conventional damages awards, paid in a lump sum, often run out while the claimant is still alive. But the Everetts from Norfolk have benefited from a new system, known as a Structured Settlement. Heidi's financial future is now secure - she could get up to £9 million. The teenager enjoys school, her trips out and a special visit to meet her idol - Jason Donovan. Laurie Mayer reports.

Most people's first garden is not a virgin plot but an existing garden with a few virtues - and many vices. Geoff Hamilton and Gay Search show in a six-part series how to tackle a wide range of problems, from trees past their time to a leaky pond, from a dreadful lawn to a weed-infested rockery, and how even an uncompromising garden can be transformed quickly into a source of light. "When you inherit someone else's gardening disaster, it can be a bit disheartening - or a thrilling challenge,"says Hamilton. Producer Mark Kershaw
