The music of Gyorgy Ligeti ranges from his bizarre and much-censored opera Le Grand Macabre to the haunting sounds that underscored the space journeys in Stanley Kubrick's 2001. In 1975 Ligeti appeared in this award-winning BBC documentary about his work, calling in a star-studded cast to help illustrate his musical ideas - Tom and Jerry, Alice ia Wonderland and 100 metronomes in concert. Now, 15 years on, he updates his musical biography.
