We're Still Here
It's still going on today, 21 years later - but we're still here and we're willing to talk about it. (Derek Wesley ,

On 16 May 1969 the calm of the Kent seaside was shattered as Folkestone teenagers rebelled against their victimisation by the town's establishment.
Rodney Hedley and Denis Cullum were just Folkestone schoolboys then; two decades later they have made this Open Space film. It is a startling indictment of the retribution suffered by some of the misunderstood young who, despite their treatment then, remain today very much part of the Folkestone community. 5 August 1956: it's not the wildest west, but when Sam lands in the middle of Texas as a mild-mannered vet, his task is to tame the headstrong daughter of a rancher who knows exactly the kind of man she will marry.
Meanwhile a young man wearing spectacles strums an oh-so-familiar tune ...

3: People Try to Put Us DownTeddy boys, beatniks, mods, rockers, hippies, Hell's Angels and skinheads - this programme hears all about their style, their rituals and the importance of being part of an 'in-crowd'. Was it just for fun, 'living for kicks' to keep boredom away, or was it a way of working out who you are and telling the world what you stand for? The 50s and 60s are remembered with affection by people who feel their teens were enriched by their dedication to style.

The Present in the Past
Authenticity in Greek Drama. John Purkis examines the dilemma facing those wishing to produce Greek drama in the 20th century. What's more important - archaeological authenticity (truth to the evidence such as it is) or what he calls 'the guts of the play' (its meaning for our time)?
