A Candyfloss Code
Most of Britain's fairgrounds are breaking safety codes. That's the alarming conclusion of tonight's Brass Tacks. Four years after the introduction of a code of practice designed to make fairgrounds safer, serious accidents are on the increase. Last year alone, four people died and 45 suffered serious injuries in fairgrounds and leisure parks.
At the height of the holiday season, Jackie Spreckley toured Britain with the man who helped draw up the Fairground Safety Code examining safety standards at funfairs.
Their findings raise serious questions about the operation and maintenance of some of Britain's most popular family attractions. Assistant producer DEBRA PRINSELAAR
Producer DIANNE NELMES Editor COLIN CAMERON BBC North West

Forth Fiesta is without doubt the most controversial television programme in living memory.
This week the controversy continues with an in-depth report on the highly controversial Television Festival, which this year deals with that hot potato, 'Do programmes matter?' And the dangerously subversive Muriel Gray will also investigate a German play by film director Rainer Werner Fassbinder and the controversy and highly-charged debate surrounding music in the official festival.
