begins a season of classic comedies starring
Charlie Chaplin
This celebrated satire on injustice and dictators contains some of Chaplin's funniest and most inventive material. His parody of Hitler in the character of Adenoid Hynkel is both a masterly caricature and a scathingly accurate imitation of Hitler as orator.

Benson and Hedges Cup Final Kent v Middlesex from Lord's
Middlesex start as favourite - not only because they are playing 'at home', but because they have already beaten Kent in the zonal round by 134 runs at
Canterbury. PETER WEST introduces further coverage and the result.

Blankit is an Appaloosa horse, a beautiful Red Indian breed, which is taking its first tentative steps in a show run by the British Appaloosa Society. In this charming film, partly narrated by Linda McCartney, Blankit is shown going through dressage, obedience and jumping trials - all to the sound of songs by Paul McCartney, including 'The sweetest little show in town' and 'The man'. continues a season of major films set in the American West. Tonight starring Randolph Scott Joel McCrea
Gil Westrum and Steve Judd are ex-lawmen, ageing and down on their luck.
When the duo are asked to team up as guards to accompany a gold shipment from a remote mining town to a small-town bank, they eagerly accept the job.
Unfortunately the journey is to prove more dangerous than they anticipate. This movie was only the second to be directed by Peckinpah, one of the great masters of the genre and combines a nostalgic yet realistic view of America at the turn of this century. It united two veteran actors in their only film together.
