Ten years ago
Michael Mclntyre gave up publishing and spent four years at the National Institute of Medical Herbalism studying the oldest medicine of all. Now he practises from his cottage in Oxfordshire. In France, at the University of Paris, Nord, the use of plants and herbs to restore and balance the processes of the body is also taken seriously. Dr Balaiche is a full professor in the subject, holding a chair alongside his colleagues in conventional medicine.
