England v Ireland
The Save and Prosper International

Wales v France
The Toshiba International

With the Grand Slam and Triple Crown already impossible for anyone to win, the championship still needs a lot of sorting out.

Only Ireland are unable to take it, but their performance against Wales could give them great heart for the match against England.

The 20th Century: The Early Years
Continuing the series in which Edwin Mullins looks at some of the greatest paintings to emerge in Western art from the Renaissance to the present day.
The year is now 1900 and the pace of art begins to quicken, especially in Paris, the melting pot of 'isms', where
Post-Impressionism, Fauvism and Futurism chase each other round the cafes of the avant-garde.
There is still a place, too, for the magic of light as in BONNARD'S Nude" against the light, while leger's The wedding (described by Richard Cork ) and MONDRIAN'S Flowering apple tree show the imaginative powers of Cubism - all paintings originally shown in the series One Hundred Great Paintings.

With Scotland on home territory, England's team of stars will have to pull out the stops to make sure of a win to take them into the deciding tie against Wales.

In the second of six programmes recorded at the Royal Festival Hall, London marking the appointment of Andre Previn as Music Director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
Vladimir Ashkenazy is the soloist in Beethoven Piano Concerto No 4 with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra leader BARRY GRIFFITHS conducted by Andre Previn 'To Beethoven and his contemporaries,' says Previn in his introductory essay, 'the mechanism of the piano was every bit as novel and exciting as computers and synthesisers are to young composers working today. Beethoven and the piano grew up together during a period of rapid experimentation. With its subtle gradations between loud and soft, the "pianoforte" provided a unique new world of sonority and expressive range, demonstrated from the very first chord of this concerto, one of the most popular works in the entire repertory.'
