Jonathan Miller talks to eminent psychologists - 12 people who contribute in very different ways to our understanding of the human mind.
Until the 20th century vision was often regarded as a simple process - the eyes provide the brain with pictures of the outside world, and the brain just looks at them. It is now known that visual perception is one of the most complicated functions the human brain performs. Professor Richard Gregory from the University of Bristol shows how the study of illusions has demonstrated how, much of what one sees 'out there' is actually generated from within. The Benson and Hedges Championships from Wembley Arena
The final that most people would wish for today is between the defending champion and world No 1
IVAN LENDL , and the 17-year-old Wimbledon Champion, BORIS BECKER , who has won all three tournaments he has entered in this country this year. There are 30 other players at Wembley, though, who certainly don't want the dream final.

Quiet Days on the Crouch
The River Crouch in Essex faces sailors with the challenge of ever changing conditions of wind and tide. It has been a popular yachting centre for generations, and over the years boats have been designed especially for these waters. Among the more famous are the Royal Corinthian One Designs, a fleet owned and sailed by members of the club of the same name for more than half a century.

Through interpretations of the slow movement of Rachmaninov's Second Piano Concerto, played by young pianists newly entering the profession, Jorge Bolet highlights the experience gained through a lifetime's association with this work. The pitfalls of performing it with an orchestra, an inexperienced conductor, an unfamiliar piano and in an awkward acoustic are all illuminated in a masterclass with pianists Ingrid Jacoby and Julia Hazelton and through frank discussions with Michael Oliver. City of Coral
Beneath the blue Caribbean ocean lies a spectacular city. Its inhabitants have erected colourful and complex structures out of plankton and sunlight - it is a coral reef.
Here the line between plants and animals is blurred,
'rocks' move, eat and fight, fish become farmers and weak animals borrow the shields and weapons of stronger ones. There are amazing creatures which use ingenious camouflage for protection, and others which use it for attack. By day and night the bustle of the city continues unceasingly, as the hunters become the hunted, and the reef citizens reveal some unlikely solutions to the problem of survival.
