But Cambridge offers many distractions from the academic grind, especially the fun and games of Rag Week; from jumping, lemming-like, into the Cam, to the alarming ritual known as 'Flanning'. As plans for a 200-million-dollar complex, to be known as 'Eden', are unveiled local Sydney residents realise that their homes and livelihoods are being destroyed by property developers. During the Christmas heatwave activists mount a campaign of violence against the speculators. But their opposition is more than matched by the ferocity of the businessmen, who realise that profits are at stake.
Based on actual incidents, this powerful movie combines drama, romance and social concerns within the framework of a topical thriller.
