A series of ten programmes featuring playwright Peter Terson and reporter Dennis Skillicorn as they travel by gypsy wagon along the old pilgrims' route from Winchester to Canterbury.
In this second programme of the series, Peter and Dennis, with their horse Marcus, and Toby the donkey, leave St Cross on the first stage of their journey to Canterbury. They encounter the urgency of rush-hour traffic near Winchester, but soon the serenity of the riverbank and the tranquility of the fields where they meet the river keepers and the farm workers, restore their spirits. With only the occasional mishap to mar their day, they eventually reach their overnight stop near Alresford.

Tim Severin and his modem Argonauts are becoming something of a legend themselves. A Turkish balladeer sings of the boat and its 'crazy captain' who has rowed and sailed nearly 1,500 miles in search of the Golden Fleece. Now comes the highpoint of the voyage - landfall in Soviet Georgia and the final search for clues to the truth behind the legend. When Jason landed 3,000 years ago, he had to overcome an unsleeping serpent. Severin and his crew are more in danger from the hospitality.... Assistant producer

A car like that is beyond the dreams of most Poles today.
Sylvia put off her marriage to enter the contest. But she's broken the rules. Will she be allowed to join the 25 finalists? Just being in the final will change most of these girls'lives.
