Queens': A Cambridge College: Failing

on BBC Two England

Mark Docherty and Lawrence Pitteway have started their engineering careers well:
Mark is sponsored by Rolls-Royce and Lawrence won an exhibition to Queens'. But Cambridge offers many distractions from the academic grind, especially the fun and games of Rag Week; from jumping, lemming-like, into the Cam, to the alarming ritual known as 'Flanning'. The moment of truth comes with exams at the end of their first year.
Both fail to achieve Honours. They are about to be thrown out of college. Their glittering careers are in ruins. They are summoned back from their summer vacation to be grilled by their tutor. He puts them through an alarming self-analysis, before the long wait for the decision.
