Through interpretations of the slow movement of Rachmaninov's Second Piano Concerto, played by young pianists newly entering the profession, Jorge Bolet highlights the experience gained through a lifetime's association with this work. The pitfalls of performing it with an orchestra, an inexperienced conductor, an unfamiliar piano and in an awkward acoustic are all illuminated in a masterclass with pianists Ingrid Jacoby and Julia Hazelton and through frank discussions with Michael Oliver.
