On the eve of the anniversary of the Battle of Britain, a profile of the highest-ranking operational female officer in the RAF, Group Captain Joan Hopkins , a woman charged with the air defence of Britain. Under her command are the 500 men and women of RAF Neatishead. Set deep inside rural Norfolk, it is the most crucial radar station in the country, playing a key role in the security of NATO and defending the southern half of Britain from air attack.
