In the last programme of this series: the problems faced by people with mental handicaps-one of the least talked-about disabilities. And we hear from a self-help group in Edinburgh - parents and friends, with lots of good ideas to recommend. They've found new ways to care and cope-from toddlers to adults.
NACRO, the National Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders, is equally concerned with crime prevention. NIGEL WHISKIN takes over the ' comment ' slot and tells how NACRO is trying to stop crime before it starts. Also 'Heard it ...', Grapevines information exchange.

Six Films of Early Exploration
Introduced from the Royal Geographical Society by Duncan Carse 5: Trans-China Expedition (1931)
' If the heat does not kill you, the cold will.' Such was the warning given to the great Citroen Trans-China Expedition.
Two columns of vehicles set out, one from the Mediterranean, one from Peking. Between lay the burning deserts of Syria, Iran and Afghanistan, the perilous mountain tracks of the Himalayas, the deep snows of the mountain passes, and the Gobi Desert in winter - a journey of some 8,000 miles.
The explorers' ordeal is captured in outstanding action photography: vehicles teetering on mountain ledges, hopelessly bogged down in deep snowdrifts, almost swept away in fierce torrents.
Yet, after almost a year, the Citroen expedition drove in triumph through Peking. Another great epic in exploration had been completed.

The fifth of six programmes
Evelyn Ebsworth , Professor ef Molecular Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh, talks to Ronald Eyre about the relationship between his own scientific discipline and his Christian beliefs. ‘I do not believe that a chemical compound has a soul. I don't believe it's a thinking and spiritual being, whereas I believe that man is exactly that, that man has a spirit » .. which is outside, but part of, his normal sphere of operations ... It is something that has to be recognised as part of the world we're living in.' Director CHRISTOPHER MANN
