Rock musician Ian Dury 's songs are written and performed with an originality that defies labelling. Songs like ' Billericay Dickie ' and ' What a Waste' reflect the lives and aspirations of a large part of his audience.
Last week. together with his band The Blockheads, Dury was in Northern Ireland. In between performances he went into the streets of Belfast to meet young Catholics and Protestants who've lived with violence for over ten years. While none of them would deny that living in a divided city presents lots of problems, they feel strongly that outsiders don't understand that there is a life to be enjoyed behind the headlines.
