Gunsmith Lindsay Tilney , 68, works in Beccles in a shop started by his grandfather in 1860; now his 18-year-old son Robert has left school and joined the business.
They spend 80 per cent of their spare time together because their interests are almost identical. In the evening, at an age when most men are happily settling down in front of the television with their slippers on, Lindsay is out shooting, walking, fishing or sailing. His energy is unflagging and even young Robert has a hard time keeping up with him.

Dawn of the Solar Age
Suddenly there is an explosion in solar research. Huge mirrors are collecting the sun in Tokyo and Denver. Giant windmills are beginning to turn in Ohio. Engineers are already testing the tools astronauts will use in space when they build a 50-square-mile satellite to radiate solar power down to Earth.

A Film with No Words
Last autumn there was a day by The Bridge when very little happened. People come and go - and then the sun goes down on a scene that means something different to each of us. It could be anywhere. It depends how you look at it.

Tonight from BBC West The Factory
The last workers and machines from a Victorian factory. in the heart of Bristol have just been transferred to the most modern tobacco processing plant in Europe on the outskirts of the city. The move raised questions central to Britain's industrial future. Consultation or confrontation? Automation or job preservation? Diversification or specialisation? This film shows how the management and workers of one factory found answers that changed their lives. Narrated by JEREMY JAMES
