with Harold Williamson
A series of three programmes 3: The Property Developer
ALEXANDER SKEAPING intended to become a harpsichordist. Instead he became involved in property development. He began with f8,000 and at one time his property value grew to £250,000. He works hard and feels he has contributed to Georgian London by refurbishing old houses. But Skeaping was accused of ' gentrification ' - doing up old houses for well-heeled tenants; reducing the amount of cheap rental accommodation. He was also accused of winkling.

We think (with respect) that the city dweller is very much in the dark as to the many aspects which include knowledge, ability, way of life, hours of work, climatic conditions, perks, tied or service houses, etc.'
