Which is the most famous, least read book ever written in Britain? It must be the Domesday Book, a census of the population and resources of England in AD 1086.
Now it's to appear cheaply: the Latin text with an English translation, edited by Dr John Morris of University College, London. He believes that the Domesday Book should be easily available to everyone for research, or just for the pleasure of knowing that a watermill has been in the same place for 1,000 years.

How can we save our wild animals?
As animal habitats continue to be destroyed, traditional methods of conservation could prove inadequate. We must find new and additional methods. Threatened species like the otter, lynx, eagle owl and wolf, and many others, must be taken into captivity and bred effectively into large colonies. Some breeders have already taken the initiative and are achieving remarkable results.
The programme includes recent work with Sir Peter Scott at Slimbridge, with Philip Wayre at the Norfolk Wildlife Park, and in zoos and animal reservations in England. Sweden and Germany.
