Forsyte Saga, War and Peace - these are perhaps the best remembered BBCtv classic serials. Next week sees the start of another classic, The Pallisers, written for television from six novels of Anthony Trollope by the novelist Simon Raven. Trollope is perhaps best known for his Barsetshire novels. But after abandoning Barsetshire, he set out to write the 'political' novels.
As 'Radio Times' did for War and Peace, The Onedin Line and Dr Who, it now does for The Pallisers with a new 'Radio Times' special, price 30p, which covers not only the serial, but also the background to the life of Trollope and his times.
