Saturday Cinema: Destination Moon

on BBC Two England

starring
John Archer , Warner Anderson
A group of American industrialists agree to finance a private venture to send the first manned rocket to the moon. philip JENKINSON writes:
' Despite the authenticity of the hardware, there are lots of unintentional laughs, especially when the astronauts wax philosophic. But the set-pieces, like the take-off and cliff-hanging return, provide many nail-biting moments. Note the sequences where the commander " claims the moon on behalf of the United States for all Mankind." Hmmm! '
