Salmon can be caught in Scotland almost the whole year round. But the spring salmon are really the anglers' delight, gleaming silver, and full of fat from their sea feeding. And where better to catch them, or to try to catch them, than the river Findhorn in the county of Moray.

Tourism is Britain's fourth largest industry, and our biggest single earner of American dollars. Each year foreign visitors and home tourists spend £1,800-million on holidays in Britain. It's more than the cost of the Health Service. But all is not well: last summer fewer Americans came to these shores. Those who did come spent worryingly little.
Does the tourist get a square deal? And does the tourist industry need a full-time Minister of Tourism? Are we selling Britain short?
