A series of five new films which concentrate on a few hours of intense activity.
It took three hours for Braintree Labour Party to choose its new prospective Parliamentary candidate. For the first time, film cameras were allowed to film the proceedings without restriction.
It happened on 20 May 1972. Four men faced the selecting delegates. In three hours, three of them were eliminated. The fourth would fight the next General Election as Labour's candidate.
Five film cameras were at the conference. They covered the speeches and balloting in the main hall, and they watched the candidates backstage as they waited and wondered - and finally were told the result.

Three Fantasies for Piano by Mozart, Schumann and Chopin
Andre Tchaikowsky, the young Polish-born pianist who has now made his home permanently in this country, plays a Fantasy by the 'classical' Mozart alongside two works of the same title by the 'romantic' Schumann and Chopin. Although all the pieces are called Fantasies, in other respects they are very different. Mozart is at his most romantic; paradoxically the Chopin and Schumann works have an almost classical form and structure.
